Key highlights from the report:
- Envision Horizons’ beauty client sales were up an impressive 71% year-over-year in July 2023, with average daily beauty sales up 49% compared to June. This lift was attributed primarily to Prime Day participation.
- Prime Day 2022 to 2023 saw beauty sales increase by 108% on average. Prime Day daily sales alone increased 854% over June daily averages.
- Top beauty searches included buzzy ingredients like berberine and staple products like gel nail polish. Retinol body lotion also ranked highly.
- Sunscreens dominated the top-grossing skincare products as expected for summer. Makeup best sellers were lash serums and micellar waters.
- Anti-aging “skin streaming” routines are trending on TikTok. Hair care is focusing on damage repair and hair loss solutions.
- Fragrance saw the largest monthly revenue decrease at 7.45%, while skin care and makeup revenues grew slightly.
- New beauty releases featured Barbie movie tie-in products and clean, vegan formulations.
