Understanding your sales patterns by day of the week can reveal opportunities to optimize your Amazon advertising performance. Let’s examine the best and worst days for Amazon sales volume and provide actionable tips to capitalize on these trends.

We analyzed our agency’s sales performance across all accounts over the past year, and identified Wednesday as the top-performing sales day, followed by Tuesday.

The Beginning of the Week Sees Strong Amazon Sales

Although Envision Horizons clients’ top sales day is Wednesday, data from other agencies such as Ad Advance and WBX commerce reports that Monday is the highest traffic and sales day on Amazon. It makes intuitive sense – customers are most active browsing and shopping as they start their week.

For sellers, Mondays present a major opportunity to ramp up bids and budgets to capture this spike in demand. When you increase spend on the day of week with peak conversion rates, you’re likely to drive more sales and lower ACoS.

After the Monday rush, Tuesdays maintain stronger than average traffic and conversion rates as shoppers continue making purchases. This makes Tuesday another good day to boost bids to remain competitive and maximize sales.

As the week progresses, Wednesdays still see decent traffic and conversion rates, though both metrics taper off moving towards Thursday and Friday.

The End of the Week is Worst for Amazon Sales

As stated above, Thursday and Friday show lower Amazon traffic and sales- this is aligned with what we see internally at Envision Horizons. Saturday is often reported as having the lowest traffic figures of the week. And while Sunday sees a spike in traffic, it tends to have a lower conversion rate as shoppers browse but make fewer purchases.

Sellers may consider pulling back ad spend at the end of the week due to lower sales volumes – reducing bids and budgets on Fridays and Saturdays conserves ad expenditure. However, advertising on the weekend can also result in sales later in the week- as customers return to shopping on Monday/Tuesday. Advertising on a Saturday or Sunday may have bad conversion initially, but there is a longer attribution to consider.
